The scheme is designed to reduce the burden of electricity bills for economically disadvantaged families, offering financial relief to those most in need. Over 1.70 crore families are expected to benefit from this initiative.
Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme
- The scheme is available to permanent residents of the state.
- Households using electricity for residential purposes are eligible; however, businesses will not qualify for the benefits.
- Only those with a monthly electricity usage of 2 kilowatts or less will be eligible.
Bill Waiver Details
- The scheme will waive off electricity bills for households consuming up to 200 units of electricity.
- Those who exceed 200 units will not be eligible for the waiver.
